Una de las principales alteraciones del medio natural es la contaminación de los ríos, arroyos y canales por la descarga de aguas negras sin control, las cuales se realizan sin ningún tratamiento provocando problemas de salud pública.

Emitir recomendaciones para la correcta construcción y operación de la Planta de Tratamiento de Aguas Residuales de Xonacatlán para la recuperación ecológica de las cuencas hidrológicas y el saneamiento de los cauces existentes dentro del perímetro de su demarcación para beneficio de la comunidad y el medio ambiente.
